Most people just want a contractor who tells them the truth.

Simple Stewards was founded by a contractor with 18 years of hands-on experience in home services. The longer you do this work, the more you realize most people just want someone who tells them the truth.

That means telling you when something isn't worth doing, when a cheaper approach would serve you better, or when what you're picturing won't work in the space you have. It's easier to nod along and take the job. We'd rather have the harder conversation up front than the expensive one halfway through.

It also means we're up for the odd ones. Not every space has a standard answer โ€” a wall that isn't square, a corner that no stock cabinet will fit, a room where the obvious layout doesn't work. Those are the jobs we like most. If you've got something in your head that you're not sure is even possible, bring it to us and we'll tell you honestly whether it can be done and what it would take.

So that's where we start โ€” listening. A lot of homeowners know they want something done but aren't sure exactly what yet, and figuring that out together is part of the job, not a separate conversation. We'll walk your space, ask questions, and help you land on something that actually fits your home and your budget.

Codes and requirements change more than people realize, and staying current on them is part of what you're paying for. We keep up with it so you don't have to โ€” and when something's outside of what we know, we say so and bring in the right people rather than guess.

We treat every job the same way, whether it's a small repair or a full remodel. You'll get a straight answer, a fair price, and work that's done right โ€” on time and within the budget we agreed on, barring the things genuinely outside anyone's control.

How we price

We quote one price for the finished job, and we'll explain how we got there any time you ask.

What we won't do is hand you a twenty-line spreadsheet and invite an argument over every one of them. That kind of itemizing sounds transparent, but it turns the whole project into a negotiation and usually ends up costing you more. Instead, you get a number you can plan around โ€” and if it turns out the work is going to run past what we quoted, we stop and get your okay before we keep going. You will never get a bill bigger than the one you approved.

On remodels, we'll ask you to carry a contingency โ€” a set percentage held back for the things nobody could see from the driveway. We tell you it's there, we tell you what it's for, and if we don't use it, it comes back to you at final payment. It isn't extra profit and we don't treat it that way.

Remodels rarely go exactly to plan. Planning for that is the job.

What's new and what isn't

Simple Stewards opened in 2026. The experience behind it goes back a lot further.

That's 18 years of hands-on work in home services. It's also a general contracting business run before this one, along with several other businesses started, run, or helped to grow.

That second part matters more than it might sound. A remodel isn't only carpentry. It's money handled properly, subcontractors who show up when they said they would, and a project that's still funded and on schedule in week six. Knowing the trade and knowing how to run a business are two different things, and a homeowner needs both of them to go right.

Colorado is home. My wife was born here and grew up loving it, and after some years elsewhere we came back to stay. Our family is settled here, and this is the community we're building in. The work we do carries our name.

You may notice we run things a little differently than most contractors you've dealt with. That's on purpose.
